The Actions of Jesus vs. the Actions of Muhammad: Whose Example Should We Follow?

The Quran says that Muhammad is the example for all Muslims (Surah 33:21), but this is odd because in the Quran it also says that Jesus was without sin (Surah 19:19) and in the Hadith Muhammad admitted to having sin (Sahih Al-Bukhari 60:236). So why wouldn't God, if He's a holy God, set up Jesus, who was sinless, as the perfect example and not Muhammad, who had sin? Could it have something to do with the fact that the one who said Muhammad was the example for all Muslims was Muhammad himself?

The Actions of Jesus vs. the Actions of Muhammad:

1) Concerning Love and the Treatment of Others:

Jesus said God loves everyone and He Himself showed love to all people: Matthew 9:36; John 3:16.

Muhammad said God only loves Muslims and he was filled with hate for others: Surah 3:32, 30:45 and Surah 2:191, 216, 244, 4:89, 8:39, 9:5, 29, 73, 66:9; Sahih Al-Bukhari 2:24, 11:626, 52:260, 53:383, 56:660, 59:716, 83:37, 84:57, 64, 89:271; Sahih Muslim 1:33; Muwatta Malik 45:17.

2) Concerning the Treatment of Enemies:

Jesus said love your enemies, and that's what He Himself did: Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:27, 23:34.

Muhammad murdered his enemies: Ibn Ishaq's Sirat Rasul Allah, page 464.

Muhammad hit one of his wives, allowed men to beat their wives, and said all women are stupid: Sahih Muslim 4:2127; Surah 4:34; Sunan Abu Dawud 11:2141; Sahih Al-Bukhari 6:301, 24:541, 48:826; al-Tabari, volume 1, page 280.

5) Concerning Marriage:

Jesus laid His life down and died for others: Matthew 26:28; Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20.

Muhammad encouraged others to die for him: Sahih Muslim 19:4413.

11) Concerning Lying:

Jesus didn't support lying: Matthew 15:19-20, 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20.

Muhammad allowed lying (taqiyya): Sahih Al-Bukhari 49:857; Sahih Muslim 32:6303.

12) Concerning Torture:

Jesus never tortured anybody.

Muhammad had a man tortured in an attempt to find some treasure: Ibn Ishaq's Sirat Rasul Allah, page 515; al-Tabari, volume 8, page 123.

13) Concerning Crucifixion:

Jesus gave Himself up to be crucified for the sake of others: Matthew 26:26-28, 27:35; Mark 14:22-24, 15:24; Luke 22:19-20, 23:33; John 19:18.

In conclusion, when the actions of Jesus are compared to the actions of Muhammad, there is no question who the perfect example is.
